Licence Renewal Opens July 5, 2021

NSCN will open the licence renewal on July 5, 2021 to enable registrants more time to participate in the licence renewal process.

While licence renewal looks a little bit different as our team continues to work virtually, you can be assured of the same level of service and support from NSCN staff. Members of the Registration team are available by phone and email. While the NSCN office space is closed to the general public at this time, individuals requiring face-to-face assistance with their application may make an appointment using the Appointment Request Form.

License Renewal Opens July 5

You must renew your licence by October 31, 2021 to legally practice as a nurse in the 2021-2022 licensure year, which begins on November 1, 2021. We know time passes quickly so we kindly ask you to consider renewing your licence as soon as possible to help you avoid the last-minute rush.

Dates to Remember in 2021

July 5: The renewal period opens. First day to renew your licence.

August 12: Deadline to renew your licence if you are on payroll deduction with your employer.

August 12: Deadline to be entered into the Early Bird Licence Renewal Contest for a chance to win the amount of your licensure fee.

October 31: The renewal period and online renewal portals close. Please note that October 31 falls on a Sunday. As usual, online services are available on weekends and holidays and staff will remotely process licenses. However, the NSCN office will be closed on Saturday, October 30 and Sunday October 31 and in-office services will not be available. Applications or payments dropped off at the NSCN office, will not be processed until the next business day.

November 1: First day of the new licensure period. All nurses must have a 2021-2022 licence in order to work as a nurse. Renewal after this date is subject to a reactivation fee. Working without an active license may be considered professional misconduct and subject to a complaint.
