NSCN does not have access to any credit card information. All online transactions are processed by independent third-party companies, who are in compliance with Payment Card Industry Standards.

We are always trying to find ways to advance our services. One of the ways we do this is by offering our pre-authorized debit program designed for those renewing their annual licence. This program gives you the ability to pay for your licensure fee through monthly payments made throughout the year rather than paying in one lump sum, similar to how you might pay for your mortgage or car payment.

Who Can Sign Up?

This program is available to you if you are renewing your annual licence. If you hold a current licence, you can join the program at any time.

How Do I Sign Up?

To sign up log in to your portal on the NSCN website. You will see an option on the left menu “Sign up for PAD”. Select this and enter your banking information. We also recommend that you review the Pre-Authorized Debit Plan Frequently-Asked-Questions

When Do I Sign Up?

You can sign up for this program at any time, however, if you sign up after the first withdrawal date the total of your PAD payments may not cover your entire renewal fee. If your payments are not sufficient to pay the entire renewal fee, you will be prompted to pay the balance after completing your renewal application.

What Should I Expect?

If you enroll in the program prior to October 31st, payments will begin to be withdrawn on the 14th of each month starting on November 14th and ending on July 14th of the following year. Each payment will be:

Designation

Payment on the 14th of each month

Total Payment

LPN

$41.66

$374.90

RN

$63.39

$570.46

NP

$75.08

$675.68

Each payment will be applied to your licensure fee for the following year. If you enroll this year, for example, each payment will be applied to next year’s 2024-25 licensure fee.

During the renewal process, you will complete your application as usual. Your PAD payments will automatically be applied to your renewal invoice!

What happens if there are insufficient funds in my account on the day that a payment is to be withdrawn?

If your payment is returned by the bank due to insufficient funds, you will be charged an NSF fee of $46. If your payment is returned a second time, your subscription to the PAD program will be cancelled. Payment of the NSF fee will be required for renewal.

I’m New to the Program. What Else Should I Know?

The first year you join the program, it will feel like you are paying for the same fee back-to-back but we can assure you that you are not. The reason you may feel this way is due to timing:

  • Starting November 1, 2023, we will begin to withdraw a monthly payment from your account to pay for next year’s 2024-25 licensure fee.

What happens if I want to opt out of the program?

If at any point you want to opt out of the program, simply login to your portal on the NSCN website, go to “My PAD Payments” and click on “Cancel Subscription”. Any fees you have paid to date can be refunded or can be left on your account for next year’s renewal fee.

I still have a few questions. Who should I ask?

If you have any other questions:

To access your tax receipt, log in into the portal using your email and password.

Once logged in, on the main page go to ‘invoices’ and select ‘include paid’. You can then see your tax receipt for your current licensure year.

Other receipts may be provided upon request. To request a receipt or for more information, reach out to us at registration@nscn.ca. We will respond within 5 business days.

Holding a licence provides you with a number of benefits, including:
