As a result of the impact COVID-19 is having on the personal and professional lives of all Nova Scotians, the NSCN Board has made the decision to postpone the NSCN’s first annual meeting until October 1st, 2020. The meeting, previously scheduled to be held on May 28th, 2020, will be held later in the year for the safety and well-being of meeting participants and at a time when restrictions are likely to be less strict concerning the ability for the public to gather.
“We recognize that this is a particularly challenging time for the public and for nurses who are working long hours to manage the health care needs of Nova Scotians,” says NSCN Board Chair, Charmaine McPherson. “It is important to us that we postpone the event until later in the year at a time of greater convenience for those who are involved in and touched by our work as a regulator. Our goals are two-fold. We want to support all of our stakeholders to focus on those areas of priority that need their greatest attention now and to hold the meeting in a manner and time that makes the event accessible by all.”
