The Canadian Nurse Regulators Collaborative (CNRC) recently initiated the Language Proficiency Project to review and update its recommendations related to assessing language proficiency in English and French for safe and effective nursing practice in Canada. NSCN is a partner in this collaborative work.
As part of the Language Proficiency Project, CNRC is conducting a survey to gather information about essential language skills required for safe and effective nursing practice in Canada and is inviting you to participate.
Please read each statement carefully and choose the answer that best applies to your practice. A few questions ask you to write in information. You will notice that most questions ask you to rate the importance of language skills in nursing practice. By "important," CRNC means how critical and essential the language skill is to providing quality patient care daily. The language skills are divided into four sections: writing, reading, speaking and listening.
The questionnaire takes about 25-30 minutes to complete. The survey will be open until June 30, 2022. Your answers will be kept confidential.
