2025 Annual Meeting Registration & Agenda
NSCN will hold our 2025 Annual Meeting virtually as an online event on Thursday, May 15 at 1:00pm AST. The meeting provides members of the public, registrants and other stakeholders the opportunity to receive updates about NSCN business from the Board, the CEO & Registrar and external auditors. The meeting also allows all stakeholders a platform to ask questions and engage in discussion about nursing regulatory matters.

Other Important Information
- The NSCN Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Douglas Bungay as NSCN’s new CEO and Registrar effective March 31, 2025. Retiring CEO, Sue Smith, will transition from the role over the coming weeks.
- Save the date on June 5th for our Supporting Professional Practice Workshop that will take place in Yarmouth! This in-person workshop is open to those supporting nurses in professional practice in Nova Scotia only.
- March’s practice support tool is the Transition to Practice Online Module, which supports managers, clinical nurse educators and professional practice leads and includes information on licensure for newly licensed nurses, transition to practice and orientation, and more.
- The NSCN Board is looking for three qualified registrants to sit on the Board. Learn more on how to apply by the March 31 deadline.
- Tax season is here! To find your tax receipt for your annual registration and licence, log in to the registrant portal and under ‘invoices’ choose ‘include paid’
- Every year, all nurses in Nova Scotia have an obligation to renew their licence before the expiration date to ensure they are eligible to practice nursing. Learn more about your accountability and what can happen when you practise without a licence.
- Have you read our RN Prescribing Practice Guidelines? This tool helps RN prescribers in their understanding of the scope of practice of an RN prescriber, role of the employer, registration requirements, and more.
- Nurses who were selected to participate in the CCP Audit must complete the process by April 22, 2025. Have questions on the audit? Our website has many resources to help you be successful.
- The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is seeking qualified nurses to serve on upcoming item development panels for the NCLEX-RN.
